Unboxing Belkin 3-in-1 Wireless Charger with Magsafe
Apple released a Maxafe charger with the announcement of the iPhone 12 series last year. It is a charger that adds magnets to the back of the iPhone and charges it wirelessly with the Maxafe charger attached to the back of the iPhone. However, charging speed is slower than wire and it seems to draw the line anyway, so it received a lot of criticism rather than expectation.
However, with the release of Maxafe, several related accessories were released, including the 3-in-1 Maxafe charger of the new Belkin. I didn't know anything else, but I really wanted to buy that charger.
After it was released, it did not dare to approach it at a price that was too expensive. Not long ago, I was wandering around the Internet and saw a lot of discounts and bought one.
The exact model name is Belkin WIZ009WH. Test is WIZ009BL)
Why did you need it?
This charger is one that can charge iPhone Apple Watch AirPods (wireless charging) at the same time. Originally, the iPhone and AirPods were C to Lightening, the Apple Watch was a dedicated charger (A to Wireless Charger), and the Galaxy Tab was C to C, so there were several chargers (Type A and Type C) and cables on the desk. In order to reduce this, we needed equipment to charge even a few devices with one device. (After spending a year on this desk, I realized the importance of securing space) We implemented this diameter because we could put all the chargers on the desk.
Is it useful?
Apple Watch is fixed well. Charging speed is similar to that of regular chargers. (Apple Watch can only charge wirelessly.)
iPhone is the problem. Unless it is Apple's exclusive case that supports Maxafe, it cannot stay in the air because it is heavy (at least 60,000 won for the original case), so it is being removed only when charging it.(iPhone is definitely a full-blown phone!!)
This charger also acts as a cradle for iPhones, so when you watch content, you can put your phone on the charger without holding it.
However, it seems impossible to adjust the angle of the watch or phone charger. Due to the structure, the left and right sides were not allowed to move, but it seems to be unable to move because this is also fixed.
The charging speed is pretty good. The Maxafe charger is said to be recognized by the iPhone as Maxafe and supports up to 15W charging.
Wireless charging at the bottom is slow. It is possible to charge devices that support wireless charging of airpods or other Qi methods, and based on airpods, the speed of battery cars feels a little stuffy.
As an experiment, the Galaxy S21 is installed, but it is expected that the number of W's wireless charging will not be that high because it appears as a normal wireless charging. (The AirPod case may be slow.)
About wireless charging
Wireless charging is a relatively inefficient charging method. When electrical energy is released from a charger in the form of electromagnetic waves, part of the electromagnetic wave is received from a phone or charger and converted into electrical energy again. That's why there's a loss in the process of sending and receiving electromagnetic waves. The two use coils, which are very inefficient if they are not properly positioned. In addition, energy loss occurs during energy conversion (electromagnetic waves from electricity and vice versa). Losses in energy conversion are released in heat form. So heat is generated during charging. The faster the charge, the worse the heat is.
(in other words, he's got a fever!!)
Disappointment
The shape of the charger power cable is disappointing. The plugging part of the power cable takes up a lot of space, so it is difficult to plug it in with other outlets. The monitor is already full of my socket-outlet and extension cable because of the charger (Galaxy Tab), which is about to occupy two areas of socket-outlet. The design is important, but I want to make it a little smaller or thinner so that it can be used with other outlets.
